Nice work on the inspiration I just stuck it on the cross system page but it's kind of small and blurry if you get a chance could you upload a better image.

You can search for information specific to each state, current news regarding US politics, and world affairs. According to the website it’s purpose is “GovSpot.com is a non-partisan government information portal designed to simplify the search for the best and most relevant government information online. This free resource offers a high-utility collection of top government and civic resources hand-selected by our editorial team for their quality, content and utility.”

What organization created this site? This website was created by Startspot Network division of StartSpot Mediaworks.

Do they have a built-in bias towards the information? There is a potential for bias because the website are reviewed by a team of staffers who determine which websites provide the most accurate information. There is no outside arbitrator who can determine whether or not the information is leaning one way or another.

What other references are cited for the information presented? This website is a portal to other websites. It doesn’t provide the information directly so much as it links you to other websites related to your topic. The links I checked seemed to general go to government websites first, which can be reliable sources of information.

Do they have a built-in bias towards the information? This website did not have a built in bias to the information because they simple are providing archival information not providing any commentary on the information.

What other references are cited for the information presented? I did not see any specific references listed for the information listed. However, this website has a lot of advertisements which you have to look at before you can get to the information.

FYI people, I just re-read the instructions for our second lesson plan and you shout note that you have to incorporate teaching the excel part of the lesson. IE can't say that the Media specialist is going to teach your students how to use excel.

here are a few things that i noticed when i looked over your lesson plan!

under standards and assessments, for iste, this is a comment that barb left me"The one ISTE Standard that you also need to include is Research and Information Fluency (which relates to researching using the hot list)." ... i assume that you will need to include this standard as well! if you have a question about what i am talking about you can look at that section of my lesson plan
under procedure......barb commented that she thought you should have the kids brainstorm(in class) on day one, and then have the students visit the lab on day 2. I noticed that you did not quite follow her suggestion, but I think the way you have it works well too.

those are just a few minor things i noticed, and you may not even want to change them. hopefully this will help you a little bit!
